Wednesday morning Cabana report
Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 08:37AM Yes, yes, I know, they're not cabanas this year; they're Technical Learning Centers. Feh. "Cabana" rolls off the tongue better.
Not as many technical questions this year, more revolving around architecture/planning stuff, particularly as it relates to Longhorn. The physical setup of the areas is different this year, since they now have the MS employees doing demos in the same area as the cabana. (Last year the demo kiosks were about a hundred miles away from our area.) Having lived in it for two days, I think I like this better, as it lets me point the customers to a demo of Server Core or whatever that's 5 feet away instead of all the way across the convention center floor.
So I'm cabana-ing until noon today, then off to the TechTarget reception and the MVP party tonight. Last night was a "Meet the Authors" thing with O'Reilly, who were kind enough to take us out to dinner afterwards. (There was an...issue...with the transportation to dinner. Mark will be blogging about it later and I'll just post a link since he'll do it much better justice than I ever could.)
Until later, then - if you're on the floor, stop on by the cabana and say hello!
