    Finally caught up

Well, it was touch and go there for a few days as to whether I was going to be able to stay in grad school this semester. Just bad timing, really: Summit was 2 weeks ago, started the new job last week, been in an AD training class all this week. (Training done by MSE Technology, in case you were wondering. God's gift to AD training. Best damned trainer I've had in a decade or more. Highly recommended.) So between all of these factors, I've been to maybe one class in 3 weeks, and had to ask for a bunch of extensions on programming assignments. Extensions are a dangerous thing, too, since you're taking longer (and too long) to get one thing done, and there's still another and yet another deadline barreling down on you right behind them. But tonight I got everything handed in and am back on track, with only marginal sleep deprivation to show for it. I still hate grad school, though: Summer of '06 simply cannot get here fast enough. I'm going to take the diploma from my Master's degree, drop into the Heisman Trophy pose, and then run away from the night school grind as fast as my two slow feet will carry me. (At least until that nagging voice in the back of my head starts telling me that I really ought to get an MBA or something, at which point you all have my permission to remind me of how much I hated grad school the first time 'round and why in the hell would I possibly want to do it again?)

Speaking of running, rather than being a normal person and relaxing this weekend, I'll be running in a charity 5K for the Community College of Philadelphia. No pictures from the finish line this time, though, since the start time is 8:30 in the darn morning and no member of my family can be dragged out of bed at that hour on a Saturday. :-) Any takers on whether I beat my previous time of 44:28?
