This week's random TSA cracking of the whip.
Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 04:39PM In going through the security checkpoint at PHL this week, one of the screeners was loudly announcing that we were allowed to bring soda through the checkpoint, but that water...was verboten.
(H')Okay, so...what do we learn from this. Soda good, water...weapon of mass destruction? (WWMD?1) And, at that point, what about iced tea? Coffee? Espresso? The Aquafina flavored water that I bring to the gym because water tastes boring? Clear soda like Sprite or Fresca? It would've almost been worth stopping to ask. (I said almost.)
The TSA booth in MCO was without stupidity incident, but for the big barrels of "contraband" bottles of Gatorade and tubes of toothpaste which were all piled together (see Brian's prior rant on this topic) in big vats underneath the x-ray conveyor thingies. Maybe the funniest part of clearing security in MCO was the slow-moving old woman who had the misfortune of trying to get through security pinned between me and Brian Desmond - she nearly got bowled over not once but twice.
