    Part 51 of the ongoing series: "So just how cool is dnscmd?"

    Alt title: "File this one under 'Duh!', I guess."

    So for whatever reason, I had it in my head that you couldn't configure an AD-integrated conditional forwarder prior to W2K8, since that's the first time it's really exposed in the GUI.

    Enter, dnscmd:

    dnscmd /ZoneAdd <Zone Name> /DsForwarder <DNS Server IP Address>

    (I suppose that if I ever really stop learning things, then that'll be an indicator that it's time to find a new line of work.)
